Here at Refund Retriever, we audit parcels and invoices for FedEx & UPS shippers in all industries. From e-commerce websites, law firms, and Amazon & eBay sellers to independently owned shipping centers, we find late deliveries and billing mistakes and save our customers millions each year in transportation cost recovery. Of course, Refund Retriever does not ship packages ourselves, but our transportation insight knowledge comes in handy. Even if you take a box to a FedEx Shipping Center, read further, and you can get a free refund on your late deliveries (GSR – aka. Guaranteed Service Refund).
Over the Christmas holiday, my father came down to spend time with us. Once returning home from Houston, he realized he had left some items at my house. After finding a FedEx shipping center open at 9 p.m. on Saturday, December 26th, I rushed over to deliver a package to his residence the next day. There was no Sunday delivery, so the box was guaranteed to arrive Tuesday by 10:30 a.m. as the first flight out wasn’t scheduled until Monday the 28th.
The receipt from the FedEx Office had no accurate data about the package other than the tracking number. No guaranteed delivery time or recipient information wasn’t complex but beneficial information for a client. It could be a way for FedEx to reduce the number of refunds; just a guess.
His package arrived on Tuesday as promised, but not by 10:30. It was 15 minutes late. I called 1-800-FedEx and went through the automated menu. I said “refund,” then after another prompt, said “refund for late delivery.” I entered my tracking number, and it asked for an invoice number. I didn’t have an invoice number because I shipped it at a FedEx Office center. After a few seconds, I was transferred to a live operator who again took the tracking number (even though I entered it in the automated system) and then was placed on hold for about 30 seconds. She returned to the line to inform me that a refund would kick back directly to the credit card I used for the purchase.
The whole call took about 5 minutes to get one single refund manually. If you have many late packages, Refund Retriever’s intelligent audit system can automatically do all of this for your company.
Holiday seasons for FedEx and UPS are full of shipping delays. If you shipped one package at a FedEx shipping center, check if it was on time. The receipt will have the guaranteed arrival time. Ground packages tendered between the 14th and 24th will not have a guarantee, but Express packages will. If you have your own account number and ship large volumes of packages, contact us today and let us prove how auditing transportation impacts your bottom line.
